A Meditation

Knowing Bo

Deep peace I breathe into you
Oh weariness here, O ache, here!
Deep peace, a soft white dove to you;
Deep peace, a quiet rain to you;
Deep peace, an ebbing wave to you!
Deep peace, yellow wind of the east from you;
Deep peace, blue wind of the west to you;
Deep peace, green wind of the north from you;
Deep peace, red wind of the south to you!
Deep peace, pure gold of the sun to you;
Deep peace, pure silver of the moon to you;
Deep peace, pure green of the grass to you;
Deep peace, pure brown of the living earth to you;
Deep peace, pure gray of the dew to you;
Deep peace, pure blue of the sky to you!
Deep peace of the running wave to you,
Deep peace of the flowing air to you,
Deep peace of the quiet Earth to you,
Deep peace of the sleeping stones to you,
Deep peace of the Goddess to you,
Deep peace of the God to you,
Deep peace of the Flock of Stars to You.
Deep Peace of the Spirits to You.
Deep Peace, Deep Peace.

  1. I did put the words of this song we sang in the concert of the Solstice Choir where I sing ..it was back in the middle of September ’07.
    The words and music were written by two young muscians in South Australia.I am reminded as I read and see Heather’s beautiful poem.
    I am going on Monday to pick up the music ( for piano)so I hope one of you brilliant writers can play it, if I send you a copy…this is it.
    FOR YOU DEEP STILLNESS
    ***********************
    For you deep stillness of the silent inland
    for you,deep blue of the desert skies
    for you,flame red of the rocks and stones
    for you, sweet water from hidden springs
    From the edges seek the heartlands
    and when you’re burnt by the journey
    may the cool winds of the hovering spirit
    soothe and replinish you
    in the name of your God…

    Fran, Heather and others will understand how it resonates with
    the deserts we have here in Australia
    I think it quite beautiful…when we were practicing it each Wed night
    I had tears well up in my throat….I love the last line especially.
